In Windows 11 opening an image file (.jpg) from some location in Windows File Explorer opens the file in the new Photos application in Windows, but opening the same file from the same location using TC opens the file in the old Windows Photo Viewer app (which is often clunky).
Why TC does not respect the default app settings from the system?
TC opens an image file in the incorrect application

Re: TC opens an image file in the incorrect application
Because there are some disadvantages with the Photo App.
It only offeres the keys for next and previous image if called from Explorer.
For this reason there was an TC option to use the old photo viewer app.

Is there a way to open an image from TC and then navigate through photos in the Photos app?Horst.Epp wrote: 2022-09-01, 18:11 UTC Because there are some disadvantages with the Photo App.

This drives me mad every time I wish to open a photo from TC and then scroll through the rest of them in the folder to find the one I need and then I find out this is something I can't do from TC..
Can you not program it into the code, or at least offer another integrated photo viewer that is light and does just that?
Re: TC opens an image file in the incorrect application
You can do that with TC's internal viewer (or a TC plugin). Just mark the files you want to view and press F3 or Shift+F3 (depending on how you have configured Edit/View. Then you can navigate to next or previous picture by pressing N or P.Can you not program it into the code, or at least offer another integrated photo viewer that is light and does just that?
If you don't want to be bothered selecting the files first you can use this button:
Code: Select all
TOTALCMD#BAR#DATA
cm_SelectAllFiles,cm_ListMulti,cm_clearAll
wcmicons.dll,27
Show all files in Lister - without marking the files first
To make the button:
1. Mark the text in the box here above (click SELECT ALL).
2. Copy it to the ClipBoard (press Ctrl+C).
3. Right click on TC's buttonbar and choose "Paste".
