Uppercase folder name like "DR4088 RB" is not working, I always get "Dr4088 rb"

I am not sure if it's a bug, but I personally think it might be.
Maybe it is a MS Windows issue (I have Windows 10 Pro 64 bits)

For my modeltrain hobby I download a lot of manuals for hardware
These manuals I sort in subfolders.
I give them names like DR4088 RB wanting to use uppercase characters
This is not possible.
If I make a folder with the mentioned name DR4088 RB the actual name after creating is Dr4088 rb
If I then try to change the name into DR4088 rb, that will be succesfull.
See overview of what I try with the foldername and what the results are:
Create DR4088 RB result Dr4088 rb
Change Dr4088 rb into DR4088 rb result DR4088 rb
Change DR4088 rb into DR4088 RB result Dr4088 rb
Change DR4088 rb into DR4088 Rb result DR4088 Rb
So it seems to be impossible to have several Uppercase Characters in a foldername
With some efforts one can have the foldername DR4088 Rb but never in 1 step
Also not possible to have two uppercase characters in the second part of the name

Create DR4018 result Dr4018
Change Dr4018 always results in Dr4018
If there are no characters after the first part seperated by a space, it is impossible to have the first characters all uppercase.

Is this a Total Commander problem or a Windows 10 problem?

Yes, or use folder names with more than 8 characters (btw I don't think you example with "DR4088 RB" is correct - you must have used "DR4088RB" to get those results)

I have set the old 8.3 filenames shown as lowercase but I want Uppercase being used the way I explained (if possible)
Btw it is not a filename but a folder / map name

Further it is exactly the way I described it, so with space between DR4088 Rb or other examples.
But the way you say it, it is exactly the same.
Then I have these results.

But as said, I am afraid it is a Windows thing.

Try these with 8.3 lowercase filenaes enabled:
Make a folder with the name "DR4088RB" and it will show up as "Dr4088rb"
Make a folder with the name "DR4088RB.ABC" and it will show up as "Dr4088rb.abc"
But make the folder with the name of "DR4088RB.abc" and it will show up as "DR4088RB.abc"
Or make the folder with the name of "DR4088rb" and it will show up as "DR4088rb"

It is only when ALL characters in name (and the extension) is Entered in Uppercase AND the name part is not longer than 8 chars, that TC show the name as lowercase (with first char in Uppercase) - that's why I write that 2bobmoors example with "DR4088 RB" being displayed as "Dr4088 rb" must be wrong.

Okay to everybody, thanks a lot

Changing the setting 'change old 8.3 filenames into lowercase' to disable did fix my issue.
I did interprete the suggestions from you in the wrong way as I did not think about folders being treated the same way.

Stupid that I did not think about that as I am a Total Commander user (former WinCommander) almost from the birth of it.
I did never see the link between that setting and my problem as folder names and file names aren't the same I thought.

Great my 'problem' is no longer a problem now.
