* is only supported in the button bar and in internal commands em_somename.

No. You need to create an extended command with *, and in the internal associations register the launch with some kind of addon like TCFS2 or TCMC:

"%COMMANDER_PATH%\Utils\TCFS2\TCFS2.exe" /ef tem(em_blabla)
"%COMMANDER_PATH%\Utils\TCMC\TCMC.exe" EMem_blabla
