Different folder contents of left and right panel

Hello, if this question was answered before, direct to me to the proper topic.
I have tc 9 (x64) for a few weeks, before i used 8.51 for some years. the reason i changed it was a problem which is nov also present on v9. in my documents folder i have cca 50 subfolders with cca 20 folders in each one of them. so, when i open one folder on the both sides, there is usually two or more folders and/or files missing. in explorer, folders are visible and they are not hidden.
i can't really think what to do in options if there is any option?

Why now 9.x we are on 10.51 at least.
May be you files have the system attribute and will not be shown if the option "Show system files" is not set.
Or you have an Exclude list in place.

Go with the small steps on newer things
i will check settings but it is strange enough when i see files on the left panel and then open the same folder on the right and the files are gone. like settings of the open panel is somehow changed.
update: when i tried for the first time in new version, there was no problem. it occured later but don't know why. Now i am doing chkdsk command on disk if that's related...

As Horst.Epp suggested, first check

- menu Configuration > Options... >> Display > e.g. Show hidden files
- menu Configuration > Options... >> Ignore List

On each page you also can call the page related [Help] to read more.




Since you talk about "my documents folder" this page may not be the root cuase.

The above-mentioned settings will work on both panels anyway, so that are not your problem.

Maybe screenshot the top half of your TC, load it up to some picture hoster and provide us the URL here.
Perhaps some user will spot the problem.

Well, if there really is a difference between left and right panel, it's possible that the filter for the panels is set differently. Take a very close look at the path bar above the column headers. If there's anything else than *.* after the path, that might be the issue.

To make TC show all files, use menu Show > All Files (Ctrl+F10).

My guess it that the one side of your TC shows the physical folder ("C:\Users\Username\Documents\") and the other side shows the virtusl folder (\\Documents\) - try and check the location bar above your TC file panels.


You could also have different file masks for the two panels. Try and press Ctrl+F10 once with each panel in focus

ok, for the moment, things are working. after that chkdsk command it did repair some things and for now, error did not repeat. and, i have two folders exactly the same, no virtual folders, no library folders or anything that would suggests different views.
