Moving the right drive bar behind the divider
When file panels are arranged horizontally, divider movement affects tabs, file panel header, tabstop header, drive selection list, status bar, buttons of directory menu and history. But for the drive panel (and free space on the right, if there is no drive list), this is not the case.
This should be changed at least optionally, and if the buttons are not getting in width, make arrows as for tabs. Who's in favor?
P. S.: I didn't find such a topic, don't swear. )

Could you give a screen shot or more information on how to generate the problem and/or what it looks like? I tried to see the problem with "divider movement" but didn't see anything amiss so I must be missing something.

Maybe for you, the fact that right drive bar remains in place is not bad? I don't know.

Re: Moving the right drive bar behind the divider
Ah, now I understand. I was misinterpreting "file panes are arranged horizontally." I thought the OP meant up and down panes. I see that the smaller pane drive bar doesn't shrink to match the width of the pane which does look fiddly. OTOH, if the drive panel did shrink, many drives would be hidden for that pane. For me, it's not an issue as I use the drive combobox alone.
I would support an option to choose between the two formats.

Re: Moving the right drive bar behind the divider
Both (not each separately) panels are arranged in one line horizontally or vertically (cm_VerticalPanels) in a column.jinsight wrote: 2022-11-27, 20:40 UTCI was misinterpreting "file panels are arranged horizontally." I thought the OP meant up and down panes.
We don't need them to shrink. The text also disappears on tabs when compressed, which is why similar arrows were proposed.jinsight wrote: 2022-11-27, 20:40 UTCI see that the smaller pane drive bar doesn't shrink to match the width of the pane which does look fiddly. In my case, it's exactly the opposite. I don't see the convenience in opening the combobox when you can click the buttons.

The Drive Buttons (if enabled for both panels) should follow the divider just as the Drive Combo-box/Free Space does.

Re: Moving the right drive bar behind the divider
In order to get arrows, the setting of "All Tabs on a Single Line" has to be selected. Tabs can either be on a single line or multiple lines. No corresponding option exists for the Drive panel. For the Drive panel, all drives are currently on a single line with no option to have them on multiple lines like tabs. Perhaps that option should be added as well as a setting for "All drives on a Single Line."

Re: Moving the right drive bar behind the divider
And what does it change? What difference does it make if there is a second option or not?jinsight wrote: 2022-11-28, 21:55 UTCTabs can either be on a single line or multiple lines. No corresponding option exists for the Drive panel.
You should create a separate request for this. It's not so relevant for me. I don't connect 20+ disks at a time. And if you narrow the panel to the limit, then each button will occupy a separate line, which in general obviously will not look presentable, not to mention the line of free space. All in all, a dubious idea.jinsight wrote: 2022-11-28, 21:55 UTCPerhaps that option should be added as well as a setting for "All drives on a Single Line."
