Select/multiselect in thumb mode is bugged af

cannot count how many times I deleted some files that got accidently selected during my own selection

left mouse click ALONE sometimes selects file randomly instead just switching focus on it. This happens usually when I keep switching between right and left mouse click. There are also too many ways how to select files (space bar also sometimes works for such selection and sometimes just jump to console input instead , ctrl+click, shift+click, insert ...how many other ways are there???)

Selections in thumbnail view are working here without any glitch.
By default Its following the Windows standard and is not invented by Christian.

What reason do you have changing from left to right mouse clicks for selections ?
This doesn't make sense for me.

Space key selection is one of the simplest things at all,
what fails for you using it ?

real problem: in thumb mode - left mouse click on invisible left area of thumb will select file, clicking anywhere outside of invisible left area will focus on file instead. It should only focus no matter where I click

This has to do with the option Configuration/Options/Operation/Mouse selection mode/By clicking on icon.
In thumbnail mode, there are no leading icons. Apparently clicking anywhere left of the thumbnail is considered "clicking the icon".

You may want to turn that option off (or enable the option "Only on touchscreen" if you are using a mouse).

Thank you! I no longer get accidental selections with left click.
Before creating this thread it seemed random to me, that's why I thought it is bug.
