Re: How to list files first.. then folders
This is becoming annoying but not sure why. I have used TC for years off/on and recently purchased an actual license. So, I'm using TC as my main and only file manager and don't recall getting as annoyed at the way folders are showing above the files. Seems especially annoying when you unzip a downloaded ZIP file and then can't find the unzipped folders because they are treated as folders rather than a recent file. In a small folder, it's ok, but when using TC on folders with many files and folders it is frustrating.
A few weeks ago I found another post like yours and the comments suggested a way to set up an ICON that when clicked set up a filter or similar for this. Cannot find at the moment but I will.

That effects the sorting of folders itself only, but this is still no mix between files and folder in a sorted way.ghisler(Author) wrote: 2016-12-08, 22:36 UTC By default, directories are sorted by name.
However, it can be changed in Configuration - Options - Display - Like files (also by time).
If you need to change this multiple times, you may create a button in the button bar with the command cm_SwitchDirSort
With that above keywords you can find more info in the forum, or just asks if you have question.
And...., welcome to the community!
Re: How to list files first.. then folders
Thanks for the reply. Your suggestion (Configuration - Options - Display - Like files) is interesting. While testing I found something else which is proving hard to understand. I've been using the directory hotlist for my frequently used folders for items such as Mydocs. Not sure how I saved my current hotlist item for some folders, but just noticed in the case of my Downloads folder that instead of showing the full drive:\path\, it's showing as \\downloads in TC at the top of a panel. At first glance this appears to work and looks ok, but I just noted that the column sort headers don't function. So, when I've been clicking the sort by date header, the files were not actually being sorted and the recent files were not at the top. When I instead navigate to the actual c:\true_folder name, the sort works as expected. I'll have to be on the lookout for these types of things.
Re: How to list files first.. then folders
I'm using version 10.52 x64 bit version on Windows 10 (ver 22H2 OS Build 19045.2486) and have the same problem. Although I am using the true directory and not the UNC format. The sort by name/date etc don't work.
However, this is for my OneDrive folder. IT doesn't work in any of the OneDrive folder whether I type in the name manually or use the CTRL-D option. However, if I go to a directory that's *not* in OneDrive, the sorting works.
Hopefully, that'll help nail down the issue.
EDIT: OK, this fixed it. I wonder if the option changed during an upgrade?

Configuration -> Options... -> Display:
Sorting directories
(_) Always by name (x) Like files (also by time)
