Switching tabs to an ftp site re-requests password

Post by *chasbas »

If I have two tabs open and use one to connect to a certain kind of ftp site, then I use Ctrl+Tab to switch tabs, when I switch back with Ctrl+Tab TC asks me for my ftp password even though I am already logged in.

This only seems to happen with my IBM Mainframe connection. It does not happen with any unix connections, or my AS/400 connection. The original ftp connection (say, 0) remains unchanged (that is, I can still change to it with Alt+F1, 0).

If I don't enter my password (press cancel), TC tells me it can't open the connection and reverts the tab to a local directory.

If I do enter my password, TC creates a *new* ftp connection as "ftp://USERID@ipaddress" (instead of as the name I gave the connection in the ftp connection dialogue, which appears in the other ftp connection). After connecting TC brings up the new ftp connection window and says "the server type was not recognized! Do you want to define it as a new server type?", even though TC clearly understands the MVS file format.

If this isn't clear, or if screen shots would be helpful, let me know.

Thanks
