Google Drive file sync status missing in Total Commander, how to get them ?

Post by *Kristof »

Hi, I am looking to replace Windows File Explorer with Total Commander but I am facing an issue with Total Commander: how to have Google Drive status for each files in Total Commander ?

in Total Commander, there are no file sync information for Google Drive files, so I can hardly work on them

In Windows File Explorer there is a file sync status for each files:

Hmm, this image https://i.imgur.com/5kq7zup.png does not look like a screenshot from Total commander

I have corrected the image url: you can see that there is no sync status for Google Drive files.
Is this feature absent from Total Commander ? are there any way to add it ?

%commander_path%\HISTORY.TXT:

Code: Select all

27.10.17 Release Total Commander 9.11 release candidate 1 (32/64)
26.10.17 Added: wincmd.ini [Configuration] IconOverlaysOneDrive=1/0: Enable/disable cloud overlay icons for OneDrive files which are only available online (32/64)
wincmd.ini [Configuration]

Code: Select all

IconOverlaysOneDrive=3 Enable/disable icon overlays for OneDrive files.
Sum of:
1: Files which aren't available offline (cloud icon)
2: Marked for always being available offline (green circle with checkmark)
4: In addition to 2: Also in paths of OneDrive for Business
Thus, as I can see, that's the OneDrive feature while, there's nothing like that specifically related to the GoogleDrive yet.
I myself don't keep GoogleDrive installed on my machine so cannot say whether there're some other options affecting GoogleDrive overlay icons display (if any).

Kristof, does it make a difference whether you start the 32- or 64-bit version of TC?

It does not make a difference between the 32 and 64bit version of TC.

Strange. Just to make sure that we are not looking for a trivial cause: the "show overlay icons" checkbox in TCs settings dialog is activated?

Thanks ! I have set this option "Show overlay icons" and now the icons are present for Google Drive files and even folders !
I do not understand why it is not selected by default in TC
