I have problem in Lister mode "8" with previewing EPS-files

I managed to get Eps preview with crtl+q or f3 by selecting 8 in Lister settings. It worked great until I added png and jpg aswell, then Eps won't show anymore and I can't select 8. Also tried changing the files to *.* and 8 explorer as viewer, but with no changes.

I've tried a couple of hours installing irfanview with plugins but couldn't get the internal viewer to work but the f3 viewer worked perfectly.
Have searched this forum for so many hours and I'm totally lost.

Any suggestions for how I could get the internal viewer to work?

Finally solved it with mthumbs, but it's a bit slower than explorer.

The perfect viewer for .eps files is the ULister plugin which uses the Oracle viewer files.
All other viewers like Irfanview need a Ghostscript installation.

And why it's suddenly stopped working. The simple inbuilt solution would be the one I most want to work.

There is no inbuild solution and never was to preview .eps files,
if you don't have a software installed which also displays .eps previews in Explorer.
If you have such software installed it doesn't stop to work for no resaon.
Your postinga are not understandable and contain no usefull information for more help.
There is not even any info what TC version under which OS you are using.

If mode 8 worked you must have a software installed which allows previews in Windows Explorer.
Does Explorer still shows .eps previews ?
If not, you have uninstalled this software, what ever it was.
Adobe bridge is one of the possible tools
or Sage Thumbs shell if you only had thumbnails.

Here a short description of how to get .eps and .ps file previews in TC.

Install the x64 version of IrfanView.
An x64 IrfanView only needs the 4 files from the bin sub-dir of the archive

In the IrfanView config for Postscript add the path to the dir with this 4 files
in Properties/Settings under Plugins Postscript options / Custom path...

In TC add the additional file types .eps .ps
for IrfanView in the settings under
Edit/View / Configure internal viewer / Multimedia

Hm, I do have Bridge installed. But i can´t make it work in quick view in TC.

Tested on my private computer and it seems right, I don´t get a preview in explorer.

I downloaded Sage Thumbs and got thumbnails in explorer and TC!!!

If you can already view .eps files by pressing F3 -> 8, you can just force TC to always use mode 8 (Explorer Preview) for .eps files - then it will also be used in Quick-view (Ctrl+Q)

To force TC to use method 8:
1. Open the Lister Configuration
2. Click the "Multimedia" tab
2. Click the button "Define view method by file type"
4. Click "Add" to add the file type .eps
5. In the dialog box where it says "Please choose default view modes" simply type 8 or click the [+] button and choose "8 Explorer Preview".

As i can understand, you are mixing lister view and thumbnails. They use separate settings and usually use different providers for previewing the content of the files. Mthumbs and sage or icaros are thumbnail providers, they don't work in lister. For lister you need already mentioned plugins, but they don't provide thumbs.

Also, some of the providers for .eps or other vector formats, show preview only if it is embedded in the file itself. So, while they will work for some .eps files, they might not work for other.

Be more specific about your issue.
