Suggestion: cm_List able to list a file as parameter instead

Post by *Helix751 »

The cm_list internal command, if defined as a bar button, always lists the selected file(s) on the active panel.

Another nice behaviour could be if TC checked previously to the launch of the command whether there is no Parameter defined (this way the internal lister should be launched as usual), but if a parameter is defined (a file path, for instance), then the command should be launched for that specific file instead (the same as when setting the Parameter field to the "?" char (thus asking for tha parameter interactively).

This would be useful when defining a button to alway show a specific file:
- An mp3 file list, which may be played through a Lister plugin.
- A text file (an index file, for instance)
- A log file (useful when used together with a log file plugin)
- An INI file which has to be edited from time to time.

Sergio

You can download the stand-alone lister from

http://www.ghisler.com/lister/

Here you can add a filename as a parameter at put this on a button, so that you will see always the same file.

Exactly what I have done to solve this issue, BUT it doesn't support plugins, so it's not a useful solution :(

External lister DOES support plugin:
I got this trick from an old post (I haven't find it today).
IIRC, what was said was:
If you use a ini file different than "wincmd.ini" in %WINDIR%, you'll have to :
Copy Lister and Lister plugin section from your ini file and then paste them in "wincmd.ini" in %WINDIR%

Edit: You can not use %Commander_path% in the brand new wincmd.ini or plugin won't work
