Hi guys,
I have a question about using the TC "Synchronize directories" feature to achieve somewhat of a manual "reverse incremental backup" in which the "backup" fully corresponds to the "original" but the files that have been deleted/ modified in the "original" are retained whenever I carry out a backup. I have searched the forums for an answer but was not successful so I decided top create this post.
So far, I am using the TC "Synchronize directories" feature with "Asymetric" setting (i.e. deleted files in the "original" will be deleted in the "backup" and modified (unequal) files in the "original" are manually set to be overwritten in the "backup").
What I would like to do, is to move these files (including the folder structure) into a different/ separate folder. Is there a way in TC to do this (directly or indirectly)? If I could generate a list of files to be deleted/ overwritten, I could do some Excel+Batch magic to move these files prior to running the backup again.
The below image shows an example ("original" on the left and "backup" on the right). The aim is to have the following files moved from the "backup" into a different folder (while retaining the folder structure):
Folder 1\File 1-4.jpg
Folder 2\File 2-7.txt
Folder 3\File 3-4.jpg

I hope it is clear what I am getting at. Any ideas, suggestions or workarounds on how I could achieve the above would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks and best wishes from Berlin,
Markus

Hi mw2004,
Off the top of my head, hide or unselect all files which you don't want to move from backup to different folder (so, all equal files and files unique on the left), select the remaining files (should be the ones you want to copy), select copy direction right to left (as if to overwite the newest files in "original" location), click Synchronize, change the destination folder, and confirm. First test this with unimportant test data.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
