You didn't found anything new for us, if you would read the large number of post about it.
You just have set an non-existent path for the file location.

It already worked in beta1 as said
because you set it to an non-existing path.

FrequentlyUsedLen is meant to limit the number of most frequently used paths shown in the history list.
When you press Alt+Shift+Down you still get the complete list as stored in tcDirFrq.txt.
To disable the function, use DirUsageLocation=0 or some other invalid name.

what are you saying ? the command "FrequentlyUsedLen" has nothing to do with path

I said it works because you give an non-existend (invaild) path as parameter.

why i rookie user must know if the app doesn't crash if it can't have access to the missing file ?

why a power user can't give a simple answer "yes this works for you"

What worked in beta 1 was DirUsageLocation=0, but this question was about the parameter FrequentlyUsedLen which is NEW in beta 2, and therefore could not have worked in beta1

And we also have problems that for some reason the author stubbornly refuses to make just a normal option in the settings so that users can easily find it and turn it off. Instead of looking on the forum for ways to do it in some special way.
Moreover, I do not see the logic at all in the fact that in order to disable the operation of this functionality, I would need to specify a non-existent path to the file. Even the instruction set FrequentlyUsedLen=0 seems to me more understandable than this....

Not true. When you disable "Save on exit" - "History" in beta 2, TC will also not save the frequently used folders.

Regular history (Left/Right) and most frequently used dirs - are TWO independent items!
So In GUI settings we have to have 2 different groups of options related to the regular history items and records for Freq.UsedDirs
If it were implemented - that's when it would be clear and pleasant to use. It would be normal.
But no - we must perform all these settings in the vast majority only in the INI file by manual editing.

If my memory serves me right - I already wrote somewhere here that the time has come to SIGNIFICANTLY expand the GUI for settings.
And bring to visually accessible places at least a third of the total number of settings that exist ONLY in the ini file.
We have a WIZARD of settings! It means PAGES! And now, yes, even 20 years ago, this number of pages did not hurt, and then it increased. Now there are only 23 pages. Only one has been added since version 8!!!
