solved [TC 11.00b2] FrequentlyUsedLen does not seem to have any effect

Post by *petermad »

If I use for example FrequentlyUsedLen=10 I expect not to see more than 10 entries in the most frequently used directories list - but I can easily get more than that number in the list.

Is there a lower limit to which value you can use?

Not confirmed
I have set it to 50 and it works
for testing I changed it to 10 and it still works correct.
May be you have the line more than once in the ini ?

Did you disable history thinning, or did you open the list with Alt+Shift+Cursor down?
In both cases you will get the entire list.

Did you disable history thinning,
yes, I had History thinning disabled - I can confirm that it works with History thinning enabled.

Mmh, HistoryThinning=1 and HistoryThinningDelta=5000 have - if commented out - no negative effect on FrequentlyUsedLen.
I.e. for me these parameters are not necessary to get the right number of history entries.

Mmh, HistoryThinning=1 and HistoryThinningDelta=5000 have - if commented out - no negative effect on FrequentlyUsedLen.
That's because HistoryThinning=1 is the default.
