The new configuration tab "History" lacks a checkbox for ShowFrequentlyUsed.

ShowFrequentlyUsed is changed via the right click context menu of the history. It's meant to be enabled/disabled quickly, so it's in the context menu instead of the settings dialog.

If I am consistent in the settings and set something in the MAIN settings wizard, then it should simply go into the use of this program, including just for displaying as checkboxes in any menus. But not the other way around - that there are checkboxes somewhere that control something important, but at the same time they do not have their own display in the basic settings wizard.
So please move this option here and also "Reverse order (last visited at the top)"

I wonder why. If I have it initially visible, it's scrolled out of view anyway, so hiding it won't give me better access to history or anything. If I don't have it initially visible and want to show it, to quickly access frequently visited directory, it already failed, because it's not quick. Plus it will stay visible the next time I open the list.

I can't relate to that either. It is an option that (from my point of view) clearly belongs to the other options in the history tab.

A "quick access" via right-click is nice and helpful, but omitting the option from the basic settings really doesn't make for an intuitive user interface.

The idea is that you can quickly switch between history at the top and most frequently used at the top, without having to open the configuration each time.

What prevents us form being able to do that both via History config dialog and via History list context menu?

Personally I don't need it in the config dialog - it is already crowded.
