Re: after double-clicking on the folder, it generates a copy error
What has doube-clicking on a folder to do with a copy operation? Double-clicking on a folder opens that folder, it doesn't trigger a copy operation. More information needed. Also, try to reproduce it with a fresh wincmd.ini:
Regards
Dalai
Code: Select all
totalcmd.exe /i="%TEMP%\fresh.ini"

Re: after double-clicking on the folder, it generates a copy error
There are some translation tools which send a Ctrl+C when you double click, to get the name under the cursor in text editors so they can translate it. Sending Ctrl+C to Total Commander with nothing selected and the cursor standing on [..] will generate exactly this error message.

Re: after double-clicking on the folder, it generates a copy error
Thank you all.
For Dalai:
Even with clean wincmd.ini it behaves the same.
For Ghisler:
I am using QTranslate.6.10.0. When I close it everything works fine.
But with earlier versions of TC, there was no problem even with QTranslate running.
Can you please ignore Ctrl+C on [..] ?
I can set TotalCmd to exceptions for Qtranslate, but then I can't translate even from Lister, and that's what I'm using.
Thank you very much. Martin

So it doesn't happen when double-clicking on a folder but on [..] (up one level). Please be as precise and provide as much information as possible, especially when reporting a bug.

Re: after double-clicking on the folder, it generates a copy error
For Dalai:
You are incorrect and I was completely accurate.
Double-clicking the folder will jump to the subfolder on [..] and TC generate a copy error.
On the contrary, when you double-click [..], the TC goes up one level and no error appears.
So don't admonish me unnecessarily if you haven't tried it yourself.

Re: after double-clicking on the folder, it generates a copy error
Its definitely not a TC bug and doesn't happen here.
If you run tools which do such strange things you should not post a TC bug.

I am also heavily using QTranslate
but do not observer such strange issue at all...
I'm also not even sure that the issue could be in QTranslate somehow...

Re: after double-clicking on the folder, it generates a copy error
Now THIS is a precise description that would've been very welcome in the first post. With that everybody can try to reproduce it. Missing and incomplete information leads to guessing and wrong conclusions - like the one I came to.

Re: after double-clicking on the folder, it generates a copy error
I will disable the error message when the user presses Ctrl+C on [..] and nothing is selected.
Maybe I should still play some kind of error sound?

Or you could just copy the path the user is in when one presses CTRL+C on [..]

Re: after double-clicking on the folder, it generates a copy error
That would be odd - CTRL+C on a file/folder does not copy the path, it copies the file object so it can be pasted somewhere...

If CTRL+C on [..] did a cm_CopySrcPathToClip that would be (imho) less odd thenghisler(Author) wrote: ↑2023-05-24, 09:41 UTC That would be odd - CTRL+C on a file/folder does not copy the path, it copies the file object so it can be pasted somewhere...
"Fehler beim Kopieren!"/"Error copying files!" because that makes it sounds like
something went wrong somewhere...
