Hi there people

I can't seem to find a thread for newbies or FAQ so here we go.
I got total commander from a friend and he had set his pc up so that I should just have the network-name and he would make my profile with my password. He had some files that I downloaded and I uploaded a few. I thought that this was fantastic and wanted to set up an FTP-sever of my own, just for friends access and nothing more.... HOW??? I can't find the answer anywhere.... How do I make a server-folder to share with friends. I can't seem find any tutorials on that??? Please help. I need a guide from A-Z!
It's a shame that a practical program like this isn't more userfriendly so we mortals can enjoy it too! Don't you think?

set up an FTP-sever

Well, an FTP server is not included within TC, since it's a filemanager and not an FTP server.
You could take a look at the available free FTP servers, from which my personal favorite would be
Serv-U ( http://www.serv-u.com ).

Others to consider might be:
Encrypted FTP - http://www.encrypted-ftp.com/
FileZilla - http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/
CesarFTP - http://www.aclogic.com/

Okay.. I thought that since I could log on to his folder and download fom his harddisk - that THAT was what FTP was... but I now see I was totally wrong.
