Anyway - in your original post you wrote:

When you are then told by Ghisler and others, that OPENBAR1 (and OPENBAR) is not for permanently changing the bar, why do you keep on arguing about other things - if you would like OPENBAR1 to save the bar choice, then make a suggestion for it.

I've already checked it. In version 8.51a, there was still a specified entry, which is a weighty argument in my favor.
