FTP Bug/Question ????

Post by *JohnFredC »

One of my FTP sites has changed it's address. The former address worked great in FTP Connect. I was able to name it and save it, then assign it to a tab. No issues.

The new address works properly from the "New Connect" dialog, but does not work if I create and save an entry in "FTP Connect..."

When attempting to connect with the saved spec, an alert dialog appears that states "Host not found". This same (new) address connects properly with Explorer every time.

I am unable to share this proprietary client FTP address, but the address that works from Explorer and from "New Connect" has the following form:

[face=courier]ftp://thesite.com@ftp.thesite.com/[/face]

The TC connect dialog shows that TC is trying to connect to:

[face=courier]thesite.com@ftp.thesite.com/[/face]

The peculiar thing is that it works from the "New Connection" dialog, but not from the saved version in the INI...

Help!

Well, that's probably because "thesite.com" before "@" is the username. And as there already is a field for that in Ctrl-F, try moving that "thesite.com" from the address to the User name field.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Yes, these comments are correct. You should also remove the ftp:// prefix in the Ctrl+F dialog.
