I have searched the forum, but I can't find the reason why the first line is blank.
However, I can also manually delete the first line of blanks, which seems to have no effect.
Not sure if it's the design intent?

I just renamed my tcignore.txt file and restarted TC. Then I made and entry via the Ignore list settings dialog, and closed TC. The new generated tcignore.txt file did NOT start with a blank line - so if you had a blank line, you must have put it there yourself.

Re: Why is the first line of the "Ignore list" blank?
Thanks for helping to confirm.
I also tested using the same method, with all default values, and made sure there was no "tcignore.txt" file. However, the first line still appeared blank. I think it might be a bug.

I looked into older versions of TC and confirmed that TC 7.04a works fine. However, starting from TC 7.50, when using "Add selected names" for the first time to create an Ignore list, the first line in the dialog box appears blank.

So this is a very old bug, and sorry for the late report.

Re: Why is the first line of the "Ignore list" blank?
I had just typed in manually, when I tested - Indeed using the "Add selected names" adds and extra line at the top. But actually a line break is added before a new name every time one is added - I guess to prevent getting two names on the same line.when using "Add selected names" for the first time to create an Ignore list,

Re: Why is the first line of the "Ignore list" blank?
It's need not necessary. I will not append a line break if the list is empty or already ends with a line break.
