Unpack selected archives into current panel/dir
Is it possible now? Using button-bar? Inside newly added there button?
With 2 options (2 dif. buttons) - unpack as is - or unpack into folders with archives names.

Oops
I tried in TCA. If I make a button with the internal command "135 Unpack all selected" I can unpack to current panel/dir by deleting the suggested destination and click "UNPACK (TO TARGET PANEL)" or "UNPACK TO SEPARATE SUBFOLDERS".
Unfortunately it does not seem to be possible to use parameters with this command to preset it to use the current dir.

Re: Unpack selected archives into current panel/dir
It seems the current state of affairs pulls on feature-request?
The appropriate convenient parameters must be explicitly supported for command 135.

what about this case?

Re: Unpack selected archives into current panel/dir
Is it really necessary to have something new? In such a case, you simply set the same directory on both sides in which the archive is located. This is done with the [=] button in the button bar.
Re: Unpack selected archives into current panel/dir
Why something new? The functionality of the buttons on the panel does exist already. Support for calling internal commands - also "yes", we have. The unpacking command itself is here. There is even a field for entering any parameters, but it's just that the command does not seem to perceive anything as such yet. This is more of a minor fix, rather than the introduction of something radically new, IMHO...
And yes - it is always necessary to unpack "all stuff" in different subfolders. Therefore, it will be more logical and faster to select all the archives, unpack them next to the same archive files - into the current folder, and then calmly move the unpacked files where it's necessary.

what can you say about this request?
Maybe I'm just missing something that already exists in TCA?

That is already possible. Simply set the same directory on both sides at first.AntonyD wrote: 2023-07-13, 09:08 UTC Therefore, it will be more logical and faster to select all the archives, unpack them next to the same archive files - into the current folder, and then calmly move the unpacked files where it's necessary.

Re: Unpack selected archives into current panel/dir
Well, I already described the situation in a whole earlier.
There is a set of files-archives on a left/current panel. Each should be unpacked into its own subdirectory... Of course, for each archive, EVERY time FIRST select this current folder on another panel as "a duple", unpack the contents there, then update the current panel, make sure that new unpacked files have appeared here, now on the other panel, finally select the target folder for unpacking, then return to the current one, select the unpacked files, finally copy them to the right directory ... Anyway, yes, all this is possible.
BUT it would be much easier and more intuitively LOGICAL, which is most important in this case! If I could just select the archives, and call the "decompress to current folder" command!
And then on the right panel I would always just select the desired subdirectory, and on the left/current panel I would just select the desired files to move them there. The number of actions is really dramatically reduced and work becomes much more pleasant and logical!
