Deleting to recycle bin not working correctly

When I tell TC that F8/Del deletes to recycle bin, folders are still deleted recursively, and the files in them to not show up in the recycle bin...

Files in TC are deleted one by one, so you dont see the folder in the recycle bin, but all the files. If you want to have the explorer way, enable this option: Options / Copy/Delete / Use Explorer delete method (faster, cannot handle comments)

In this case TC uses windows settings of recycle bin. You should check this windows settings (or test by windows explorer)

If you want to have the explorer way,

then you could use context menu (SHIFT+F10, Delete).

I don't want it "the explorer way", I'm just saying that when I tell TC to delete to the recycle bin, that's not what happens.

Absolutely.

But that's not the problem. Deleting a single file within TC gets it to the recycle bin. But deleting a folder doesn't move it to the recycle bin. In stead, it only moves the files one by one to the recycle bin. And that's not how it's supposed to work.

Yep. That is so. If you want to have the explorer way of deleting directories - see postings above.

As nevidimka unpolitely said above, this is by design. If you restore any of those deleted files, they will go back to their original location, so actually the folder information is there. All deleted folders will be recreated this way.
