[New Idea] Copy/move Dialog + operationlist.tc.txt

Post by *blacky »

Hi,
we have today Gigabytes, Terrabytes and maby later more bigger Datas to copy, move and delete and so on..
i by my self, have so far VBOX-Harddisk images, where i store at my Server in the Basement.. but the whole copy
operation blocked my work, because i want not let run by all copy side by side, because it need in any case the time where's need..
so, step by step, file by file.... because i have developed this idea :

if we copy or move files or folders have we a Bar where questions buttons and so on,
could there be not a possible for a checkbox to handle the file movements and new file movements if the copy/movedialog in the background
and then a listing in $TEMP/$TMP, in users Temp or system temp or Program Dir, where be located the file copy/move-listing
of the copy/move opperations.

Like an url-download listing for download the listing later, the same as copy/move listing..

the listingname could named copyoperations.tc.txt or something..

the file could looking like :

[copy] C:/bigfile => //linuxserver/path/file.bigfile
[move] //linuxserver/pathabcqerfqrqer/dsnksdaöcm/bigfile.blobb => D:\path/VM/blaforlinux/blaforlinux.vdi
[delete] //linuxserver/pathabqrqer/dsnaöcm/bigfile.blobb
[copy] ./blabla/hughe.db => //Linuxserver/Factoryabc/
[sftpcopy] sftp://blackysgate.de/hugefile(s).db => //linuxserver/backupdir
[ftpmove] ftp://server1.com/directory => ftp://backupserver.org/backupdir
~~~~~~~~
all works step by step in background, and it this operations running, and it's need still a move, copy or deleteoperations over network,
can be there a
[ ] Add to operations in the File Move/copy/delete operation of the Operation ...
then it's able to let the operations include in the operation-list, also over network or let it direct copy on local fs,
without adding in the fileopperation list..
this helps also in Factory for copy big files step by step and it's possible to work further with total commander on local file operations or add local file operations in general via checkbox in the copy/move/ delete dialog via checkbox, also if run at moment a fileoperation from a file befor and add the fileopperation to the list, if checket on the checkbox..
there could be also a possible for add [ftpcopy] [sftpcopy] in this file.. imho, as 2nd "modded" idea to include the copy operations from [ftpcopy] and [sftpcopy] into the file-operation file..
is totalcmd on the network //network/portabledir/tc/ and the operationfile.txt stay in the TC-Folder, it's fast enough for reading out and past lines..,
also if a 10MBi Network ...
and a extra in the menu, by side "download the ftp-file listing" "Run the fileopperationlisting" and if it's run or not run ,
in the Fileoperation dialog -[X] Add the $operation of the File's/Folder's to the Operationfile-
and in the Backround run's the file, step for step all stored File/Folder-operations (also over network over night.. 200TB or more)
at the Server over VNC / Fernwartung / remote maintenance ..
and at the next day it's all done and the TC wait for the next work :)
and the work can go on..
maybe with the possible for setting up the net speed ;) for have also a bit bandwith for other operations ...
(the first version of FDM, there it is possible for adjust the download-speed)
best regards
Blacky
Are you familiar with the capabilities of the download lists as described in the thread [wish] Total Commander batch files?
Hi.
Blacky's idea seems to me to be perfectly done by any synchronization program (or backup copies) and you don't need total commander for that function. Or in another case, it would take longer to make the .txt file, than to make these copies or move files. In case it is a daily job..., once again we are leaving, for that there are programs to perform those functions of routinely copying or moving files.
@white, so, why then not a checkbox at the copy/move Dialog, add to download-task-listing, would then a solution, but it must build in..
@wetware05, partially, yes, but only partially ;) it's a "copy/move Jobmaker in the background.. by/at the moment work, so have something like screen in LinuxPromt to have the possible for a multible taskforce.. is this the right name.. taskforce..the forceses of the self running mutibles task's at the same time .. so full capacity of the possibility's of the Bofh (Bastard Operator of Hell) *giggle*
damn, i be to old (over 50')
