Problem with CD drive

Post by *javier074 »

I'm not sure if this is a bug or my own problem but when i have the cd-rom as active unit if i eject the cd without to change the drive first, the application crash and is not possible to use it without to restart the O.S.
I'm using 6.03a version under Windows XP Professional SP2.

Thanks in advance.

Try adding
DeviceChange=0
into the [Configuration] section of your wincmd.ini (or change it if it is already there).

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

What error message do you get? Total Commander tries to refresh the drive list when it receives the device change notification.

That's very unusual, and shouldn't happen with a fresh XP SP2 system. Two possible reasons:
1. A background virus scanner or similar. This is the most probable reason.
2. A device driver problem.
