Also they pointed differences between both versions, as pro or cons of each version. Most users that are still using 32-bit is mostly because of plugins or they just don't have enough reasons to switch, performance included.
I believe you hit the spot, at least in my case, with your last statement. 100% agree.

To name an example that has neither a 64bit pendant or " superseded by superior alternatives":
- Frank Zavelberg nearly 20 year old CD/DVD Burning Plugin, still works like a charm :D
- decThumbsDBViewer to properly display files tcthumbs.db
- the nfoviewer Lister Plugin
- the Font Lister Plugin
- anytag.wlx, a lister plugin for TC which displays metadata of audio files
...

The akfont plugin is a not bad font viewer (64 and 32bit) < http://totalcmd.net/plugring/akfont.html >

I have had more success with the Complex TC burner < http://totalcmd.net/plugring/complexcd.html >, but both that and TCBurner < http://totalcmd.net/plugring/tcburner.html > are only 32bit.

I mis that VisalDirSize < http://totalcmd.net/plugring/visdirsize.html > is not portede to 64bit - DirSizeCalc Charts < http://totalcmd.net/plugring/dirsizecalc_charts.html > is not as configurable as VisualDirSize.

CD-DVD burning plugin was the reason i didn't immediately jumped on 64-bit TC when it became available. However, I fount that I haven't used that plugin in years. Most of my computers don't even have a DVD writer anymore.
I never really used the NFO and thumbs plugins anyway.
Instead of TTFviewer, I use AKFont for fonts.
For metadata I rely on the mediainfo plugin, which provides info through tooltips and custom columns. It is not lister plugin like Anytag, but supports various multimedia files, not just audio. And more importantly, this way I have consistent display of metadata. This plugin replaced several others, such as mmedia, imgsize and some others that worked with just a particular filetypes.

I just tried and found that TC 32 is noticeably faster entering a folder with 25.000 files.
