Transfer TC Settings to Another Phone
Hello,
I got a tablet and would like to transfer my settings for TC Android from my Xiaomi phone to my new tablet. Both devices have Android 11.
How can I go about it?
I didn't see an export/import settings command in TC.

Re: Transfer TC Settings to Another Phone
Super! Thank you.
Of course it would be nice to have this export/import settings feature built in.
Maybe Christian would be so kind to consider this for a future release. (Pretty please)

I totally agree, "export/import settings" should be a standard function to ease migration to a new device or for backups.
Please consider to implement, thank you.

Normally when you setup a new phone or tablet, you will be asked whether you want to install previously used apps. This also copies the settings of these apps.

Not on a de-googled phone. This often only works within the same brand of phone - and it often don't recreate the settings of those apps.Normally when you setup a new phone or tablet, you will be asked whether you want to install previously used apps

Re: Transfer TC Settings to Another Phone
You can use a tool like Helium backup, or backup your settings as follows:
1. Change via home folder - system main directory to the following folder:
/data/data/com.ghisler.android.TotalCommander
This is possible without root rights!
2. Back up the "shared_prevs" and "files" directories, e.g. to a subfolder of /storage/emulated/0
Restore:
1. As above
2. Copy back the "shared_prevs" and "files" directories
3. Important: Quit Total Commander via the task manager (Android tasks) and restart it,
otherwise it will overwrite the restored data when exiting!

Re: Transfer TC Settings to Another Phone
Does this method also include the settings/connections for SFTP Plugin?

Re: Transfer TC Settings to Another Phone
Helium Backup will also backup the settings of all plugins. Copying the folder will only backup the data of Total Commander itself.
