The new version 11.01 does not save the position

Post by *blackman »

If there was drive F in the right panel: then upon restart there will be drive UZH When connecting via FTP, always the first server, and not the one that was last time

The wincmd.ini (and wcx_ftp.ini) on your system is probably saved somewhere where you don't have write access, e.g. inside %ProgramFiles%. Check menu Help > About Total Commander where the INIs are located.

Thank you. So it was, although it is not clear why ToTalmd does not have access

Well, you probably set the INI location upon TC installation. To change it, either use the inireloc tool, or run TC setup again an carefully go through the installation steps.

I used the Save Position option. Settings were successfully transferred
But it’s not clear to me that earlier, before the update to 11.01, everything worked, but after that it didn’t. :?:

The update doesn't change the ini location
if made with the same settings.

Probably it was influenced by the fact that I installed win 10 on another disk and then updated Total to win 7/ I don’t know

The "Configuration" -> "Save Position" option is for saving the size and position of TC's window.

If you want to save the folders in the two panels you need to use the "Configuration" -> "Save Settings".

If you want TC to always start in those saved folders you must disable the option "Configuration" -> "Options..." -> "Operation" -> "Save on exit" -> "Directories".

You can not save an FTP site for opening automatically in the file panel when TC starts.
