XP Timestamp for Copied Files / Daylight Savings Time (DST)

Post by *JimEoff »

If I copy a file to a backup disk, Windows XP evidently gives the new copy the date of the original file, but evidently adds or subtracts an hour from the timestamp if today is different in terms of daylight savings time than the original file's save date (i.e. the timestamps differ by an hour).

Unless there is an existing option that I have overlooked (in XP or tCom), I suggest an option to make the timestamp of the new copy of a file identical to that of the original file, regardless of the DST status.

Love the product and use it every day at home and work (yes, I registered both copies). :)

Thanks,

Welcome on board.

This may help you:
Total Commander Help Index 4. Configuration and switches b. INI-File settings: wincmd.ini, wcx_ftp.ini (for FTP) wrote:[Configuration]
1hourdif=0 1: Ignore time difference of exactly one hour when comparing files. This is useful when comparing between an NTFS and FAT volume (daylight saving time!).
