Copy an move : Counters turn negative
Hello,
Total commander 10.51 Windows XP 32 bits.
From time to time the counters for the number of files and size of files in the copy or move window turn negative. To be more precise, they start negative and then are increasing, as if they had not been reset to zero where it should have been.
It's been a long time I've been noticing this problem but so far I couldn't find a way to reproduce it at will
It's often when I make a lot of copy/move with sometimes a mix between the background transfer manager and normal copy/move, and sometimes with canceling due to some files already existing, and then restarting.
Once the problem has shown, it remains until I restart Total Commander.

Re: Copy an move : Counters turn negative
This is not a bug! It means the REMAINING size to be copied. Just click on it to switch back to already copied bytes.

Sorry ! I had not spotted it in the doc.
Maybe I found it confusing because this mode sometimes switches on without any indication.

Why file and byte copied counters are currently negative ?
Got a minor bug, looks like some too-small variables
I'm doing a 10TB copy. Both the file and byte copied counters are currently negative.
I think the files copied is a 16-bit word wrapping around, is the bytes perhaps a 32-bit KB copied wrapping around?
Subject adjusted by moderator to reflect the real content of this posting. Please take care yourself next time, thank you.
This way others can tell if they want to open and read this thread or not,
and also can find the answer too, once they are searching the forum before posting for an already given solution.

Negative numbers in progress after paused "Copy"
I was copying a lot of files (from the "Synchronize Dirs..." action), and when the process was about in the middle, I pressed "Pause", then (after some time) resumed the operation. The numbers in the copy progress popup went berserk, they became negative! They were counting up, towards zero, and the copy stopped when the counts reached 0.

IDK why this forum rejects it with the double capital Q complained as "unsupported character".. If you want to take a look, remove the two backslashes from in front of the Qs:

It's to combat Chinese spam messages, double q is a Chinese instant messenger similar to WhatsApp.al20878 wrote: 2023-10-12, 01:16 UTC IDK why this forum rejects it with the double capital Q complained as "unsupported character".. Perhaps Mr. Ghisler can reconsider if this measure is still necessary.

Perhaps you clicked the number?[Help - F5: Copy] wrote: Copy progress dialog box
The copy progress dialog shows, if available, the number of copied and total number of files, and the number of copied and total number of bytes. By clicking on these numbers, this can be switched to the remaining number of files/bytes (shown with a minus sign).

Please confirm that this isn't a bug, as "white" describes.

al20878,
When you click the number, the display changes to showing "remaining" files and data, signified by a minus sign.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

"THE" number? What number that would be?

When double Q appears in the middle of a link, how THAT would be dangerous?

One of the explained numbers.
