I know that this is the plugin thread, which works for me well. But does here have someone an advice, why I can't start imagine64.exe directly? While I start it with image file name as the parameter, it works well, but when I try to start it empty, the application starts but doesn't show its window and immediately exits.
I'm using 64 bit version on WIndows10 x64. On my other computer with Windows10 x64 it works well. Both Windows10 are the same version fully updated.

The 64bit version 1.3.2 (Oct 21 2023) can no longer show animated PNG files.
Unrelated, but I find that imagine's animated gif support to be substandard, they are hardly "watchable"[1] - I've resorted to excluding GIF from imagine so it just uses the TC default lister which does work correctly.
[1] this isn't recent, it has been that as long as I can remember (10+ years) on windows 7, 8, 10, and 11

When you start Imagine64.exe without parameters, it starts in Browser mode, using the last visited directory. If the Browser is set up to show thumbnails (default), there could be a file in that directory that causes Imagine to crash.
Try and open your Imagine.ini file and delete the content of the [BrowserMRUD] section, and see if that helps.
You can start Imagine64.exe directly in Viewer mode by using the parameter /viewer ( Imagine64.exe /viewer ).

Thanks, but still not working. I found, that for some reason I cannot switch Imagine into browse mode. I can open it in viewer mode, but everytime I click "Browse" application crashes.
In the ini I have no BrowserMRUD section. And tried it without ini too with the same result.
2macleod, looks as though there's something special with that particular machine of yours. As an approach, I'd follow petermad's recommendation regarding uncompressed DLLs, then I would try to add Imagine to the Windows Defender (or whatever software you use in that regard) exclusion list.

Use the following Button to start Imagine in its browser mode
showing the images in the current TC dir.
Uncompressed DLLs don't help, even the button doesn't work. The problem is in browse mode. With other parameters the app starts well, but with /browse or without parameters, starts and immediately exits. I'm going to check the safety rules. It seems like imagine64.exe doesn't have access to folders.
