Greetings, earthlings
I am running TC 6.01, and i've noticed that i rarely change the extension of any files, so it gets annoying when i rename a lot of file and have to type for instance .tiff everytime.
I understand there is a feature to keep the extension intact, sort of like you can work in windows when in super-safe-mode
Any ideas how i change this ? If i need to DL a newer version of TC, is there an easy way to upgrade without ruining my .ini file? (it is in the program dir)
peace

[Configuration]
RenameSelOnlyName=1
If this does not work, upgrade to 6.03. Ini no problem.

If you rename many files use the multi rename tool (files menu). Just change the name here and ignore the extension. It even works for a single file!

Yeah! But if you're unsure, just back it up first!

sybariten ,
have to type for instance .tiff everytime.
Just BTW: Insted of
.tiff you can also simply type
.* .

Hacker: ah, you mean if i want to rename ferrari.tiff to lamborghini.tiff, i'd rename it to lamborghini.* and it'd still come out as lamborghini.tiff? Well thats neat, could come in handy any way.
Thank you all for quick tips.

Yes, I mean that (as you could find out by yourself in a test of 10 seconds
).
