I just realized TC file for directory tree is stored in the root of every disk except for C: (stored in %LOCALAPPDATA%).
It's problematic if disk is Read-Only.
Could it be possible to save file treeinfo.wc in %LOCALAPPDATA% for RO disks?
Or maybe for ANY disk?
Store file treeinfo.wc in %LOCALAPPDATA%

Take a look at TC help, section 4.b, settings TreeFileLocation and following.

As Dalai writes - it is in the help - so put for example this entry in th [Configuration] section of your wincmd.ini file:
Or install 'Everything', and then open TC's "Directory tree" (Alt+F10) and enable the 'Everything' option in the top of the dialog - then TC will stop writing the treeinfo*.wc files and use 'Everything' for generating the directory tree.
As Dalai writes - it is in the help - so put for example this entry in th [Configuration] section of your wincmd.ini file:
Code: Select all
TreeFileLocation=%LOCALAPPDATA%\Ghisler\treeinfo%D%.wc
