Markup of EFS encrypted files and directories ?

Post by *Elegantly »

Hi all,

is there a way to configure TC to display encrypted files or folders with Microsoft's EFS (Encrypting File System) in a special color, or otherwise mark these files? As is, it is quite inconvenient to switch back to the standard Windows Explorer in order to quickly check if a folder is encrypted via EFS or not...

Regards,
Myc

:) Hello ! Welcome on board!

¤ Currently, you can only set colours for the files, whether you know what file-types are encrypted as EFS :
Configuration >> Options >> Color >> Define colors by file-type.
* You might have a look HERE too.

 Kind regards,
Claude

The next version of Total Commander will support it, I have already added it (as an option to search for EFS-encrypted files).

Thanks, Christian. This will be a very welcome feature addition! And thanks for making such a great file manager.

Is this feature in 6.03a? I'd love to use it.

No. Next version is V6.50 and will be released in 2005 probably. :D :P

Sooo...where can I enable / find that feature to get a different color for EFS encrypted files? :)

EDIT: I have already found the Search option (Find Files > Advanced > Attributes); but I am looking for a simple way to change the color of EFS encrypted files in the normal "directory listing" of TC, just as the Windows Explorer does (which uses a green color for encrypted files).

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

EFS color in 7.02a

I've not figured out how to add color for EFS files and folders. A little hint or two :-)
