Sometimes after syncdirs some ion files remain despite they should be deleted. I do not know why some are deleted and some not.
Afterward I want to get rid of ion files which are identical with source. I tried to find and delete them with syncdirs and with find duplicates as well. But they can not be deleted in these automatized tools. Syncdirs does not show ion files and find duplicates finds ions but after selecting and deleting them they are not deleted but remained. How to delete duplicate ion files?
Note: I have shown hidden files.

Re: How to delete duplicate ion files ?
I guess TC has the descript.ion file still in access.
Try disabling the option "Comments from descript.ion/files.bbs" in Configuration/Display to see if that is the cause.
Re: How to delete duplicate ion files ?
The following setting is required so that descript.ion files are taken into account during synchronisation:
Configuration > Options... > Operation > File comments:
Copy comments with files
The topic was illustrated here in German language.

Thank you. The unchecked setting makes possible to find, compare and delete ion files in syncdirs and find duplicates as well. Afterwards man must not forget to check it back again
Maybe it would be worth to try unchecked setting during synchronization to prevent some ion files remaining. I need to think about whether I'm missing something with this method.

In my previous post there is a link to the AHK-Skript from Hacker.
With this it is possible to check the descript.ion files for inconsistencies.
It is advisable to carry out a check at regular intervals.
The following is specified in line 1: StartDir = C:\Test
The path or drive to be checked is to be entered here, e.g. StartDir = D:\
I saved the script as an .ahk file with a text editor and then compiled this file as an .exe file
with AutoHotkey v1.1... ( current v1.1.37.01). Then just click on the .exe file.
If an error is found regarding descript.ion files, the file "MissingFiles.txt" is created, in the "StartDir = directory".
If there is no error, the file is not created, i.e. there is no empty message.
All file comments have been correctly assigned/cleaned.
If the AHK icon is NO longer displayed in the taskbar, the check is complete.
