Download it from TC's official site at the address below, of course.
I tested both 32/64 bit versions.

You shouldn't say something like that so easily. Besides, even though it's for one person, I'm paying full price to use it, and that statement makes me a little sad.

You could try and install TC to a folder in your user-account, where you have more rights, than to the "Program Files" directory. Or you could try and run TC form a USB-stick if your work computer has a USB-socket.

The security policy does not permit the use of USBs, but downloading materials and installing programs over the Internet is permitted, but the release of materials must be authorised.

I have extracted your false reports and put the text you wrote in the reports (which are not visible to the public) below a quote of the origianl posts here below:

How has you installed TC on a protected company device?
YEHA in Report wrote:The installation of the program is not restricted, but any unauthorised release of files is prohibited

How exactly do you run TC? Does it work properly if you run it via Windows' Run dialog (Win+R)?
YEHA in Report wrote:I have a shortcut TC launch icon on my desktop, or an icon on my taskbar. And just in case, I run TC directly from its installation location (c:/totalcmd). However, all of them have the same problem: force closing TC. The force closing of the TC does not happen immediately after the TC is launched, but irregularly. In some cases, it happens after several minutes.

There's another possible reason: an unquoted path to TC containing spaces. See this old thread of mine (German). That's why I asked the OP how exactly TC is launched.

Also compute and post here the checksums for the installer and for the installed program file! (SHA1 or higher)

You're asking for help, but you haven't given us the even slightest chance to help you.

Even though installing to c:\totalcmd\ should usually give you full rights to TC's program directory and subdirs - I would still like to hear if you still have the problem if you for example installed to C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\totalcmd\

Do you have any plugins installed in your TC, that could explain the late shutdown, if it happen when a plugin is used later after startup.

If the shutdown does not happen immediately, that should give you time to use TC to make a checksum (File -> Create Cheksum File(s)) for totalcmd64.exe as you have been asked for earlier in this topic.

That is correct for a SHA1 checksum for TC v. 11.03 - it would have been nice if you have indicated which type of checksum you had generated - luckily SHA1 is only number 3 on the list, so I didn't have to try so many.

What about the question about plugins...?

petermad,

You can just copy the provided checksum to the clipboard and run Files - Verify Checksums, TC automatically recognizes the correct checksum type.

It could be any plugin that could be considered virus infected by your system.

The easiest way to test that, is to start your TC with a fresh temporary configuration file (hence without plugins activated). To do that you can start TC not with your Desktop/Taskbar links. but via this command:

Code: Select all

c:\totalcmd\totalcmd64.exe /i=%TEMP%\test.ini
Then work with that TC for awhile to see if it is shutdown. If not, then it is likely that one of your plugins is the problem and we can take it from there.
