Quick view panel in Search Results

Post by *hi5 »

Suggestion: A small quick view panel in the search results window, or allow lister to 'track' the active file when browsing the search results.

I often search for images based on name, e.g. just 'cat' - so I get a list of files as expected, but I still don't know which 'cat' I need, so now I feed results to listbox and then quick view to find the one I want to use.

To save a step a quick view panel available directly in the search results would be useful (for me).
It can be a thumbnail view and even limited to omit files from archives for example.

I can already use F3 to view a file but that only works for one file.

This is already possible with "Feed to listbox" and then "Thumbnail View" or with "Feed to listbox" and then Ctrl+Q (Quick View Panel)

@joube That is what I said of course (see bold above now), but I want to skip the feed to listbox step and simple be able to quick view the images (or other files).

Code: Select all

|---------------------------------------| [ start search]
|Find: cat | [ cancel ]
|---------------------------------------| [ help ]
|Search results | Quick view panel |
| cat1.png | /\_/\ ( |
| > cat2.png | ( ^.^ ) _) |
| cat3.png | \"/ ( |
| cat4.png | ( | | ) |
| cate.png | (__d b__) |
| catx.png | |
| catq.png | |
|---------------------------------------|

And what is the difference (apart from pressing the button) apart from the many major disadvantages that result from it? *)

Joube

*) which should be obvious for an experienced user like I assume you are (like no: F5, F6, Shift+F6...).
