2. This happens because when in the root, TC doesn't know which connection should be closed. It sends a "close" root to the plugin. The first errors out because there is no connection "root of plugin". The second call then sends a "disconnect all" to the plugin, and switches away because it doesn't know whether the plugin supports just one connection in its root, or multiple.

Scan QR code from the PC? Re: How to Access My Android Phone via WIFI ?

Post by *Hammillian7 »

ghisler(Author) wrote: 2024-08-07, 09:30 UTC To get a fixed URL, you need to do the following:
1. Give your phone/tablet a fixed IP address. You can normally do this in your router, check the DHCP settings for your device IP address.
2. The 4 digit subdirectory name is used as a pin number and changes every 2 weeks. To get a fixed code, add a user name and password by clicking on the cog wheel in the upper right of the app, then on ADD USER. Once you have done this, you can use code 8888 instead of the one displayed above the QR code, e.g. http://192.168.1.125:8081/8888
Btw, in the "Total Commander Plugins" page, it says, for the "WebDAV 3.2" plugin, "2.6 adds scanning of QR codes shown by the Wifi Plugin on Android".

Does it mean that the QR code could in any way be scanned by the PC instead of hand-copying the URL?
Thanks,
Jose

If your PC or Laptop has a webcam, then you can use it to scan the QR code if the WebDAV plugin is new enough.

Yes, I have the last version (3.2) installed and my laptop has a camera, but I haven't seen how to call the camera from the webdav plugin to read the QR code.
Thanks,
Jose

When a camera is connected, the WebDAV plugin shows a pseudo connection named "_QR-Code". I have just tested this on Windows 11 here: The entry is missing while the webcam is unplugged, but appears when I plug it in and refresh the listing. On my Windows 10 laptop with built-in cameras it always appears, and even allows me to choose between the front and back camera.
