DrShark wrote: 2017-03-25, 20:45 UTC This plugin has a bug: it can't search with F3 for text used in "Find text:" field of Find Files (at least until user searched using Ctrl+F dialog). Details.
Could you please let if the issue with the F3 text search not working, previously mentioned in the post above, has been resolved?
Find text works fine for me, using it for example while viewing a doc or docx file.

It doesn't work on any of my files, for example:

Did you specifically customize anything when installing uLister?

I checked it myself. In some files, searching using F3 works, in others it does not. Most likely this is a plugin error.

Could you please share any file where the F3 search function works?

I have all these documents in Russian. You won't be able to test them.

Ничего страшного, думаю, я всё же смогу протестировать любой файл на русском 8)

You can see that you are searching in the wrong encoding. Try looking for numbers. For example "05/15/22". Maybe it will work out.

Still, this plugin is not intended for really simple text files at all.
And if you use it to view more sophisticated formats - like the same WORD document,
then it should be clarified that to search for something in it, you need to enter the text, and not copy it!
The plugin practically does not work with encodings.
And with any search, you need to put the cursor at the beginning of the text!
Because the search always comes from its Location!
Even if you didn't think you did anything with the cursor position - still - set it at the beginning of the text first!
And this plugin is very bad at starting the search through F3, and we have such a habit)))
Here you ALWAYS need to start with F7!

It doesn't matter - looking for a letter, a word or a number, the result was still the same - "Not found".
AkulaBig wrote: 2024-08-26, 06:36 UTC Here I found a document in English in which the search works
Thank you so much! The result can be seen in the following screencast - https://github.com/iG8R/test01/issues/7#issue-2486732691

The search works fine for me. Since the document is in English, the search works with any encoding.

I don't know why and in what program you recorded this video, but the fact that we need a VPN to watch it (for obvious RU reasons)
and a powerful computer (because the laptop's built-in VideoCard cannot easily "chew on" your H265 codec chosen for some reason
and a gigantic display/video resolution).
And since there is neither one nor the other - then .. viewing is canceled((((
