Re: Pressing F2 after Feed to listbox resets the view to directory view
Not confirmed.
I can change file names from the list with F2 without losing the search view.

But here I immediately agree with the topic starter. Yes, it happens. Confirmed.
BUT this clearly cannot be considered a bug - this is quite adequate behavior.
In case when F2 is NOT scheduled to run the rename file command
And because By default, this is the “Reread source window” command - then, of course,
when it is called from the moment the file panel is filled with a list of what was found,
so and the content of the parent folder will be called and displayed - from which the search
process so and was called and which ended with the output of what was found in the panel.

When you feed search results to listbox, the results in Search window are cleared.
When you accidentally refresh the window, you lose the both current search results (those that are in panel) and previous search results (those that are in the Search window).
Ok, I will be satisfied to lose search view, and open a Search window with previous results and add them again, if they will not be cleared.
But clearing search results was made intentionally, just like everything else. But is anyone satisfied with this behavior?
If you open branch view (Ctrl+B) and re-read source, should not you stay in branch view?
And, with the search results, if it's hard to refresh, to just not refresh.

This is intentional. Re-reading a search result does not make sense anyway, so it returns TC to the normal list.Pressing F2 (reread source window) after Feed to listbox (search results) resets the view to directory view

It is not "returns TC to the normal list", but you lose current view and Search window results (Alt+F7).
Losing Search window results (Alt+F7) after feed to listbox is "intentional" too, but I disagree.
Read prev. post.
The request should be rephrased, but no one cares anyway.

Re: Pressing F2 after Feed to listbox resets the view to directory view
Me think basically he wants to suggest to disable the function (reread source window) for a "search result view" or such.
But to late, already many use the habit to clear the "search result view" that way (F2 or Ctrl+R)
For more about "search result view" see our FAQ "View the search result in an "normal" file pane:" >> viewtopic.php?p=390483#p390483

I've always used Backspace for that - easier to hit.But to late, already many use the habit to clear the "search result view" that way (F2 or Ctrl+R)

I do not entirely agree - If I, in the search result, open a file and edit it - then the file date and attributes are not updated (in the status bar, and the colorization of the file name if I color files not older than 1 hour) - in this case it is not far fetched to press F2/Ctlr+R to have the status updated, to have a visual indication that the file was succesfully saved.Re-reading a search result does not make sense anyway
