Hotlist folders shortcuts

Post by *860lacov »

Hi everyone!

I have my own list of favorite folders on hotlist.
Can I add shortcuts to each position?
For example my hotlist is :
Desktop
Windows
D: photos

Can I use shortcut ctrl+1 to jump directly to desktop? (it could be any other shortcut)

There are many options:
for user "desktop" you can use "cm_OpenDesktop" command and define your shortcut on Configuration - Options - Misc.
for any other folder you can define user command - on "Choose Command" window click "usercmd.ini and press "New" button
or press CTRL+D and add folder to folder list. Also you can use internal start menu.

But first of all: RTFM

In Hotlist (Ctrl+D) the first sign of each entry is a shortcut to call that entry.
If more than one item share the same first sign, you can cycle through them.
Desktop
Windows
D: photos

You can modify the title of an item and add '&' in front of an char of the title to use that char instead off the first sign.
Desk&top
Wind&ows
D: photos

Also you can play with the title names of the entries and add a wanted char (e.g.: 'W') in front of some
to cycle through all work related folders by pressing 'W'... and then chose the wanted favorite by pressing the enter key.

hi all,

one follow-up on the above replies, please: when having shortcuts structured in submenus, is it possible to quickly call an item within a submenu by just pressing CTRL+D and respective character?

Having this example:

-Set A
&1 item 1
&2 item 2
--
-Set B
&3 item 3
&4 item 4
--

...I want to be able to just hit CTRL+D and 1 to open item 1 under Set A. At the moment I am not able to, I have to press
1. CTRL-D,
2. select Set A
3. press nr. 1

Is it possible to get rid of step #2 in above sequence and go directly to an item in a submenu?
Thanks in advance for any hints!

To my knowledge, in windows menu/submenuu, mnemonic works only if visible. You must have submenu open to see it and then activate with letter.

Windows popup menus do not support such global hotkeys. But you can assign a hotkey to the submenu too! Just rename "Set A" to for example "Set &A", then you can use Ctrl+D A 1.
