When I go to delete a few files (3 to maybe 6, small files), sometimes they delete in a second ot 2 and other times it takes maybe15 seconds.
Why does it take so long to sometimes a file or a couple of files?

Re: Deleting Files
There's a pretty good chance that the anti-virus software causes this.

Re: Deleting Files
If it is the antivirus software why is it not consistent?
Re: Deleting Files
The file type and content may differ, for example.
Windows 11 Home, Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.3915)
TC 11.51 x64 / x86
Everything 1.5.0.1391a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.5.2.0, Listary Pro 6.3.2.88
QAP 11.6.4.2.1 x64

Re: Deleting Files
I have tried the same 5 files multiple times and sometimes the files are eseentially deleted immediately and other times it takes quite a bit longer (maybe the 15 seconds).
Re: Deleting Files
Do you delete the files to the recycle bin or do you bypass that by deleting via Shift+Del?
Anyway, disable the anti-virus scanner temporarily to find out if it indeed is the culprit.

Re: Deleting Files
It really depends on the file type. Some scanners even send the file to the cloud to check it when they find it suspicious, which will take even longer.
