Help needed to connect Android to PC
Hi there. I have installed TC for Android 3.50 and I can see the contents of my Samsung phone. However, I wish to connect and see the folder C:\TC on my PC. I have shared the folder on my PC and installed LAN in the TC App on my phone. My IP4v address is 192.168.167.203. I'm not sure how to type the following data for my LAN-connection:
Servernavn/directory
Username
Password
I assume that the last two is my login to my PC, but I cannot get it to work. Can anybody guide me here. I have been looking for a tutorial om LAN connection to PC, but have not found any.

Re: Help needed to connect Android to PC
Servernavn/directory would be either:
1. the name of your PC, which you can see by opening Windows 10/11 settings and then searching for: computer
This should offer a result to view the name of your PC. Enter it as compute_name/share_folder_name
or
2. Enter it as IP_address/share_folder_name, e.g. 192.168.167.203/LTN if LTN is your shared folder
You should open your router web configuration and ensure that your PC always has the same IP address. This is usually done on a page named DHCP or "internal network" or "LAN". Then you don't need to edit the configuration when your PC gets a new IP address.
Username should be the name you use to log into your PC, or your mail address when you use a Microsoft account.
Password should be the password you use to your PC too. Currently it will not work when no password is set.

Re: Help needed to connect Android to PC
Thanks Christian,
However, it is still driving me a bit crazy, since I cannot get it to work
I write this in the Android App as a "New server" under LAN connections. Here I give the name: "TCLAN" and then the following settings.
Servernavn/directory: 192.168.167.203/TC
Username: My_PC_Username
Password: My_PC_Password
I uncheck "Protect with master pass"
When I try to connect it starts with "Getting data from directory", but shortly after that I'm prompted for a password for the LAN connection "TCLAN". Here it won't help typing my PC-logon password, but I don't have any other ideas.
By the way, I'm pretty sure that the TC-folder is shared, because when I prompt the command "net share" I get this:
Sharenavn Ressource
TC C:\TC
I get the IP-Address through the prompt ipconfig
IPv4 Address: 192.168.167.203
My LAN plugin is 3.56 and not 3.50 as earlier mentioned.
Hope that you or another person have other suggestions on how to get it to work.

Re: Help needed to connect Android to PC
- You may need to check both SMB2 and SMB3.
- Make sure that there is no space after your user name. Some keyboards add a space when tapping on a suggestion while typing a word.
- You can try using the folder name of your home folder in c:\users instead of the user name

Re: Help needed to connect Android to PC
Still no luck
Always careful with spaces, so they have been cleared evertytime.
Have in all my tries had flag on SMB2 and SMB3 (dont know what that is however...)
My homefolder in Users are already my PC log in name
It has not something to do with "/" vs "\" or that I should have something before IP-Address (like //) or something else. By the way I always use "/" when trying to connect.
If no more suggestions, then tomorrow I can try on a PC that has no username or password.

2LTN
You can find the PC's name in Settings -> System -> About -> under "Enhedsnavn" in Danish
Also you cannot just add TC after the server name (unless you have a share called TC), you need to add the drive - so If you want to open C:\TC you have to enter: 192.168.167.203/C$/TC

That's not true - if he has shared c:\TC as "TC", he can connect to servername\TCAlso you cannot just add TC after the server name (unless you have a share called TC), you need to add the drive - so If you want to open C:\TC you have to enter: 192.168.167.203/C$/TC

Re: Help needed to connect Android to PC
Hi again,
Now I'm back home on my normal WiFi and tried with the new home IPv4 address. IT WORKED FIRST TIME I TRIED
I did not change anything else, so can't explain what was wrong on my vacation location.
For future readers here is what worked for me:
First of all I shared the folder C:\TC on my PC.
I then found the IPv4 address with ipconfig (192.168.0.200)
On my Android TC App I pressed "New server" under LAN connections. Here I give the name: "TCLAN" and then the following settings:
Servernavn/directory: 192.168.0.200/TC
Username: My_PC_Username
Password: My_PC_Password
Uncheck Protect with master password
Check on SMB2
Check on SMB3
Uncheck encrypted
Uncheck Older NAS
Uncheck Use old name
Thanx everyone who came with good suggestions

PS. I'm very happy to get this to work. I can now, though the TC App on my phone, import photos from my PC to my Android phone without changing the date for the file, which happens if I let Windows10 copy the files. This made problems for my photo catalog, which shows photos in a photo folder after date and time.
