Can I hide tree view Desktop, Control Panel, Gallery etc?

Post by *willyhoops »

A lot of the stuff in the tree is a waste of screen space for me. Is it possible to get rid of it? E.g. if i want to use the control panel I go into it from my start menu, also I don't use the recycle bin etc.

You can hide physical drives and folders but not virtual folders like \\Control panel or \\Documents

Thanks for reply. The ultimate way to do it would be to allow the user to select a location with the "drive combo box" and then populate a tree underneath it from that point onwards with no scope to go backwards without changing the combo box above. This is a feature I have always wanted. It would be much safer and more user friendly and space efficient. I asked the guy at xplorer if he could do it, he said he doesn't code the tree display himself it comes from windows, and microsoft have never implemented that feature. With a feature like this ordinary users could forget about the complex paths to their files which would be invisible and unreachable.
