[TC 11.50b2] suddenly folders have icons which shouldn't

Post by *hi5 »

In TC 11.50b1 I didn't see icons when I wanted them, now I see them while I don't want them and haven't defined any :)
After upgrading to TC 11.50b2 I immediately started to see folders having icons that never had them and I don't think they should have them.
(Recyle bin for example now always has an icon)

32/64 bit Windows 11, when I open C:\ some folders already have an icon, when I move up/down the panel icons appear after the cursor is on them or is leaving them - such as program files and program files (x86)

Or they appear after return focus to TC, so I see some folders having no icons, I press printscreen to grab it, the focus returns to TC the panel refreshes and now the folders have icons. A before/after here https://github.com/hi5/_resources/blob/master/iconissue.png

Doesn't seem to happen under windows 10

This is what was already present for years in my wincmd.ini which simply gave .todo files a bender icon 🤖
Note the attributes and directory aren't "selected":
[searches]
Todo_SearchFor=*.todo
Todo_SearchIn=
Todo_SearchText=
Todo_SearchFlags=0|000002000020|||||||||0000|

[Associations]
Filter2=>Todo
Filter2.icon=C:\totalcmd\icons\collections\bender.ico

Not confirmed on Windows 11 with your settings (I did add my own bender.ico). Could you send me your entire wincmd.ini to support at ghisler dot com, please? It may be some other option causing it.

I was able to reproduce it, it happens when you have defined internal associations for files with changed icons. I will fix it in beta 3.

Fixed and works correctly now
23.10.24 Release Total Commander 11.50 beta 3
21.10.24 Fixed: Internal associations with user-defined icons for folders didn't work unless they were at the top of the list (32/64)
21.10.24 Fixed: When using internal associations with user-defined icons for files, some folders would also show these icons by mistake (32/64)
