For me it works consistently now with the right amount of lines below the cursor and no obvious scrolling from 3 to 4 lines for example.

I tried all 3 beta versions (32-bit, 64-bit, 32+64-bit) from here, and both executables for the latter, as well as both the settings in the OP and my current settings that are not too much different, and everything works perfectly, no more jumps or visible two-step advance to the "Extra lines below cursor" value. From my point of view, it looks like you nailed it - well done, and thanks!

Assuming the other potential replies will confirm this correct behavior, I'd personally be curious what was the issue in the first place. Thanks again for taking the time to listen and try to solve this (successfully, from what I can see). :)

You can always count on that, for the things I like. TC is one of them.

Does anyone get the jump in the list as in this video, where the user disabled the lines below the cursor?

If the bottom entry is not completely visible, I sometimes notice a scroll up of 1 line. Possibly this goes too fast most of the time to notice the scrolling.

I also noticed that when the selected entry is partially visible at the bottom, clicking it once scrolls it fully into view. Because of this a double click doesn't work on the entry when it's only partially displayed at the bottom.

Hmm, neither of these happen in the linked video.

The first thing I mentioned I can see happen in the video too, at this point: https://youtu.be/ErZ_TAMWNj4?t=28

But I misunderstood the video. I thought he did the scroll to 4 lines himself LOL. I have not been able to reproduce that with the option 'Extra lines below cursor' disabled.

It's really a mystery why this is happening in the video - maybe an involuntary use of the mouse wheel?

Perhaps he is doing the scrolling and only means the one line at the bottom?
I tested again. I might have seen it once when testing with TC 11.03, but I'm doubting myself.

Yes (I get it) and nope (it's not user mistake). Just tested now with TC 11.00 like in the OP (except the settings which are very slightly different, e.g. using dark mode instead of coloring the background black myself) but with "Extra lines below cursor" disabled like in the YT video you mentioned, and I got that behavior too, just like reenstix. I got it right from the first time, when double clicking on the last fully displayed folder in the list. That being said, I didn't manage to replicate it in the following attempts yet, so it appears that reenstix was correct, it has a "random" behavior, unlike with "Extra lines below cursor" enabled. I'm sure that makes debugging it much more difficult in the disabled case, unfortunately.

I didn't test it with TC 11.03b, since you mentioned that the glitch is solved only for the "Extra lines below cursor" = Enabled case. I suspect that even if I did, given the somewhat "random" occurrence of the glitch with the option disabled, I (or anyone testing, for that matter) might have the impression that the issue doesn't occur in the beta, when in fact it would occur but the user just didn't see it happening yet.

As a principle, the enabled vs disbled glitches might be related, so what solved the former might be related to what solves the latter...

I now think that he indeed did the scrolling of 4 lines himself and that his report is about scrolling 1 line. The video shows him testing until the scrolling of 1 line is visible, then he zooms in on that happening and then the video stops.

Are you confusing TC versions? The current beta is 11.50b3, not 11.03b3.

Yep, that was indeed my mistake. I meant 11.50b3, of course. Sorry for the typo.

OK, since the main problem with "Extra lines below cursor" enabled is solved I will move this thread to fixed bugs. If someone finds a reliable way to reproduce it with "Extra lines below cursor" disabled, then please submit a new separate bug report.
