solved [TC 11.50b3] Text on button when search not found in Lister always in Windows locale

When I search in Lister and the string is not found a message box pops with the title "Not found:"

In that message box the button "Retry" is always in Windows locale (Danish), no matter what language I am running TC with.

With my Windows German locale setting
and TC language is English
the TC message in this case is correct "not found"

I suspect that you did change language from Danish to English just before using Lister. Which English did you select - internal or from external lng file?

It happens both with Internal English or English language file, and also after restart of TC, or with a fresh .ini file which by default uses Internal English - the button text is always in Danish.

If I log into a Windows 10 account with English locale the button text is always in English no matter what language I choose for TC.

Confirmed only in normal mode, not in dark mode.

Obviously it is a standard message box and standard button which comes from the OS.

TC uses string 1364 in wcmd_eng.lng:

But only in Dark mode.

The string in wcmd_dan.lng is:

Code: Select all

1364="&Prøv igen;&Forfra;&Afbryd"

which is used i Dark mode as opposed to "Forsøg igen" in normal mode.

I'm using a standard Windows MessageBox function, which uses the current locale (language) for its buttons. I do some subclassing to translate the message box, but I didn't think that Abort-Retry-Ignore was important enough to be translated.

It is important enough. It's a message box that pops up regularly and right now the Retry button is not translated, while the Cancel button is. Which is of course not acceptable. In any case, either translate none of the buttons, or translate both.

The problem was also that the retry button text is too long in some languages. I will also have to resize the button in that case.
