[TC11.1 - 50b3] CTRL+M does not convert Polish characters
As in the topic, CTRL+M does not change Polish characters and does not search for them at all. I checked on 11.1 and 11.50b3
Re: [TC11.1 - 50b3] CTRL+M does not convert Polish characters
For understanding, your system is set to Polish locale.
You can search normally for files with Polish characters, but not in Multi-Rename ?

There, windows is set to Polish, the TC interface is also set to Polish, searching for files with Polish characters works, but wholesale replacement of Polish characters no longer works.

Completely strange behavior, it turns out that it works in one folder and not in another
Re: [TC11.1 - 50b3] CTRL+M does not convert Polish characters
Actually it's not the location or type, two files in the same location:
1:żólte pole na kartę.png.txt
2:teścię żółte.txt
clicking CTRL + M on 1 does not work, but on 2 it works

I don't understand your problem - what you mean by "does not convert"? Lowercase to uppercase?
Note: your first file name contains "żólte" instead "żółte" - maybe this is problem?
To be sure where the problem is please describe it detaily on Polish subforum.

What rename options do you use in the multi-rename tool which no longer work?
For example, search+replace (what exactly?), or convert to uppercase etc.

If what he writes is accurate then for the second filename, spaces are replaced but the other characters are not. It might be a typo though because he also says the filename does not change. If he means unchanged, it isn't clear yet if TC does try to replace the characters and he gets an error, or if that is not the case.techjaw (in Polish, but displayed in English here) wrote: 2024-10-26, 19:55 UTC I noticed that when I have two files in the same location:
teścię żółte.txt
żólte pole na kartę.png.txt
selecting them to quickly change Polish characters or spaces, one file changes and the other does not.
I use Find & Replace
in find: " |ż|ź|ć|ń|ą|ś|ł|ę|ó"
in replace: "_|z|z|c|n|a|s|l|e|o"
in effect it gives
"teścię żółte.txt" -> "tescie_zolte.txt"
"żólte pole na kartę.txt" -> "żólte_pole_na_kartę.txt"
a completely incomprehensible problem for me.

I am uploading PS now, the file can be deleted and restored from the trash and still the same effect (or rather lack of it) - that is, nothing blocks it
I created 3 files by adding 1 to the name and the same problem.

Re: [TC11.1 - 50b3] CTRL+M does not convert Polish characters
Were these files created on a Mac? I ask because MacOS stores Unicode characters with accents differently from Windows. Instead of storing one character like â it stores it as two characters, a^ , where the second character ^ isn't actually the standalone caret/circumflex, but a combining accent, which will be overlayed with the previous character:

Therefore an accented character created on a Mac is not the same as one created on Windows. You need to copy the characters from the Mac names and add them to the search+replace list.

Re: [TC11.1 - 50b3] CTRL+M does not convert Polish characters
Since the user confirmed that these files were created on a Mac I suggested using NFCname content plugin - https://totalcmd.net/plugring/NFCname.html in MRT, to normalize names to Windows standard.
