duplicate tabs

Post by *Tim Skene »

Maybe it's the way I use Total Commander, but I end up with many duplicated tabs in each window. I hope this will be fixed in the next release, but is there any way to avoid the problem in the current version?

Thanks.

Do you have locked tabs? If yes, the problem is that when you enter a directory on the locked tab, TC opens a new tab automatically.
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

Yes, and use locked tabs with dir changes allowed. I'm using them almost exclusively now (in addition to unlocked tabs), and they are for me how locked tabs should have been from the beginning. :)

very good!
but would be nice to have an "minimize" option for the tabs (indicated by numbers or icons). One tab with the directory tree could solve the 4 windows whishes of some users...

try to set wincmd.ini

LockedTabChange=
0: always create a new tab
1: re-use tab with same dir
2: re-use first unlocked tab
3: re-use last unlocked tab

I Agree, for me they work great too! But I miss one more little thing (that I proposed already in this post): The option to have a tab with a specified root dir that stays in its actual directory when returning there from another tab, maybe with an option like 'gotoRootOnTabChange=0' added to a lockedTabWithDirChange

If this option will be added in some way, I'll surely remain silent for about half eternity...
