It's not a matter of time.
My TC usage and license goes back to the time of Windows 3.11 for Workgroups
If I want self extracting archives, I create them with appropriate options.

This feature of being able to convert an archive into a self extracting archive without repacking, is not explained in help, is it? I suggest to add a line for it to the help page "Pack" (Index entry: Pack files).

Additionally, it would be useful to add an internal command for it.
