Is it possible for Total Commander to show associated icons for archives instead of its icon? Different archive formats become harder to tell apart if they have the same icon.

Re: Archive icons
You can chose in Preferences/Configuration/Display - Icons the option "Only Standard Icons" you should get what you want.
You can jump to icon config using command cm_IconConfig and switch manually.

Re: Archive icons
If I choose "Only standard icons" then all other icons disappear but archive icons that are private to TC stay. That is obvious from the button group: going upwards shows more icons, and the default choice is the highest. What I want is to show associated icons from the system on archives.
cm_IconConfig opens the same page in preferences.

Re: Archive icons
You can't tell Total Commander to use associated icons for archives because the files are opened internally. But you can assign different icons yourself like this:
1. Menu Files - Internal Associations
2. Add
3. Enter the file types like this (separated by spaces): *.rar *.7z
4. Click OK
5. Click "Change icon"
6. Pick a program with >> button (e.g. winrar.exe)
7. Choose an icon
8. Close all dialogs with OK (leaving the open action blank)
